Desert Campion (Villosa Silene); is a therophytic plant belonging to the Caryophyllaceae family. The origin of the plant is the Arabian Peninsula, the Levant, Egypt and Morocco. It is widespread in the Northern Emirates and South of Abu Dhabi.

It has high anti-cancer, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, hepatoprotective, anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulating, adaptogenic, tonic and actoprotective activity attributed mainly to ecdysteroids from the secondary metabolites it contains, and the medicinal value of each plant stands in the ratio of secondary metabolites it contains.

It has shown strong antiviral activity against Herpes simplex, HPV, HIV, Gonorrhea and Hepatitis viruses. It regenerates damaged liver tissue, fights infections, toxins and liver cancer, rebuilds muscles and healthy cells in the body, supports the immune system in fighting infections, has activity against bronchitis and asthma, for cleaning the kidneys and urinary tract, etc.
